Fix common setup, sign-in, API key, and first-run issues in Kismet.
Common issues
Use this list for common setup and first-run failures.
- Unreal reports missing modules
- Confirm that the downloaded archive matches your Unreal Engine version. If the version is correct, delete Binaries and Intermediate from the copied plugin folder and open the project again.
- The toolbar button is missing
- Open Edit > Plugins, search for Kismet, enable the plugin for the project, and restart the editor.
- Sign-in does not complete
- Confirm that the browser flow finished successfully, then reopen the Kismet panel. If the editor still shows a signed-out state, sign out and try the flow again.
- The API key is not accepted
- Check that the key is an Anthropic API key, not a Kismet account password or another provider key. Paste it again and save.
- The agent does not start
- Confirm that you are signed in, your Anthropic API key is saved, and the Blueprint you want to edit is open.
- The Blueprint does not compile
- Read the compile error, then ask Kismet to fix that exact error. Include the error text if it is not already visible in the Kismet panel.
